Hizashikan teaches children and young people.

When a child joins the dojo, additional information may be required for membership, safeguarding, emergency contact and safety purposes. Parents or guardians will be told what information is required and why.

Trial class and contact forms
When you submit a form through this website, we use the information you provide to respond to your enquiry or arrange your visit.
Submitting a trial-class enquiry does not add you automatically to a marketing mailing list.
Messages sent through the trial booking form and the contact form are stored securely in this website's content management system, where they can be read only by dojo administrators who have signed in. When you submit a form, a notification is sent to the dojo's own email address containing your email address, so that Aziz Sensei can reply to you directly. No other details are included: your name, telephone number, message, and anything you have written about a child stay in the content management system, behind a login, where they can be deleted. No third party receives these messages.
If you contact us by email, we may retain the correspondence where reasonably necessary to deal with your enquiry, maintain membership records or keep an appropriate record of communications.
Payments
No payments are taken through this website. There is no online checkout, no card form and no payment provider connected to it, so this site never sees or stores card or bank details. Class contributions are arranged directly with the dojo.
Who we share information with
We do not sell or rent personal information.
We may share limited information, only where reasonably necessary, with organisations that help us operate the dojo, for example:
- our website and hosting provider;
- the British Martial Arts & Boxing Association (BMABA), our governing body, and our insurers through them;
- professional advisers where necessary; and
- public authorities where disclosure is required by law or is necessary to protect a child or vulnerable person.
- our website hosting provider and our email provider;
Any provider we use should only receive the information needed to perform their role. All providers we currently use are located in the United Kingdom.
International transfers
Your personal information is stored on servers located in the United Kingdom. Where a service provider processes information outside the United Kingdom, we will take the steps required by UK data protection law to protect it.
How long we keep information
We do not keep personal information for longer than necessary, and different records are kept for different periods depending on their purpose.
- Enquiries and contact messages — Enquiries that do not lead to membership are held for up to 12 months. We review enquiry records periodically and delete those that are no longer needed.
Where an enquiry leads to membership, the relevant information is kept as part of your student record for as long as you train with us and for a reasonable period afterwards. Where we have a specific reason to keep a record — for example a safeguarding matter or a dispute — we keep it for as long as that purpose requires.
We keep encrypted backup copies of the website's data so that the site can be restored if something goes wrong. Where information is deleted from our systems, it may remain in a backup copy for a period before that copy is replaced.
- Student records — membership, attendance and emergency-contact information is kept for as long as you train with us, and for a reasonable period afterwards.
- Safeguarding records — where a safeguarding record exists, it may be kept for longer where we are required or advised to do so.
- Financial records — where we are legally required to keep records relating to money, we retain them for the period the law requires.
When information is no longer needed, we delete it securely or anonymise it.
